CASSIS, PEARL OF PROVENCE

Once back at port, you can enjoy an exceptional setting: Cassis and its creeks. Here, the Mediterranean is not polluted and the coastline is preserved. Entrance of the French Riviera on the Mediterranean, Cassis is easily accessible by plane (Marseille-Provence airport), by train, by road. Situated near a motorway exit, Cassis is, for example, about 6 hours from Geneva, an "all-motorway" journey.

With 7600 permanent residents, Cassis is a large village in Provence and not an overcrowded resort. In the historical center of Cassis, you will taste the charm of a small Provencal port that has preserved its sincerity and character. Depending on the days, you will discover the animation of a market, a sporting or cultural event, a local festival, without forgetting the Casino of Cassis and its slot machines. The port of Cassis is one of the last Mediterranean ports to have so many "pointus" (the typical fishing boat). The phallic symbol that extends the top of the bow is inherited from Greco-Latin antiquity.
